Miyashiro Shrine
Miyashiro Shrine is located on the grounds of the Danjo Garan Sacred Temple Complex. The deities Niutsu Hime and Kariba Myojin are enshrined here, and Niutsu Hime was summoned by Kukai to protect Koyasan. Miyashiro shrine is significant in that it is both a designated Important Cultural Asset and is representative of the fusion of Shintoism and Buddhism.
