The Tokugawa Clan Mausoleum was built by the third Shogun of Japan Tokugawa Iemitsu. The mausoleum was constructed in 1643 in honor of Iemitsu’s father Hidetada, and grandfather Ieyasu; the feudal lord who unified Japan after centuries of civil war.
